The expectations for Biden in the debate are so absurdly low.

His detractors desperately want to see him debate and flounder. "More tears are shed over answered prayers than answered ones."

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I do not. I think another debate, just one on one, is worthwhile. Bernie won't have anything new. The risk is low. I would like to see more of Joe.

knowing that he recently had a heart attack. His doctor must be very concerned. I don't think this is the sort of life style that doctors recommend for a 78 year old heart attack survivor.

but he's still sharp. Meanwhile, Bernie's default mode during most debates is to resort to campaign stump speeches. We've all heard them before.

I guess the further out Bernie flails his arms the more Joe has to bring his in to keep everything in harmonic balance.

Really shows the contrast.

In one debate when Biden was speaking, he paused and said, "Quit waving at me Bernie". The camera didn't show Bernie flailing his arms while Joe spoke, but he was quick to point it out. I laughed out loud as we all knew what he was talking about.

I hardly watched any of the debates. Maybe all of the first one, some of the second and practically nothing after that. I don't enjoy watching Dems attack each other and promote themselves. "I was the only one here who..." ad nauseam got too tedious for me. I'd instead watch all of the post-debate coverage and that was plenty good enough for me.

I just want Joe not to fuck up in the next debate, blow Bernie out next Tuesday and then start pivoting towards Trump. Bernie can do whatever the hell he wants while the vast majority of people ignores him as he becomes increasingly irrelevant.

It didn't have to be this way and not what I wanted but it is what it is.

Things are getting so ugly and it isn't good for anyone aside from Trump and republicans in congress. Meanwhile, the worse things get for Bernie, the more he doubles down. I'm afraid that he will leave the race with no dignity left and it didn't have to be that way.

better than when he's in a chaotic multi-person debate where he seems to get bored/tired.

Even though Biden has lost a step he still has a charm/wit he often uses to great effect, the way Reagan used to, who was also underestimated due to his age and memory lapses.

Bernie says 'Joe must explain...' well Bernie has never really explained how he will pay for his massively expensive ($60 trillion) plans, how he would get them passed, etc.

Bernie also has no sense of humor and often gets rattled. He falsely believes he's some great debater (he's not) and that Biden's some fool (he's not).

We’ve seen him absolutely dismantle Palin (who wasn’t much of a challenger). He also dismantled Paul Ryan, who may have looked like Eddie Munster but had some intellectual heft.
