This is the mayor of Kansas City. He was turned away at the polls this morning because he supposedly wasn't on the rolls. He's lived at that address for a decade and he's the gd mayor of KC!
I almost think this needs cross posted, just to remind everyone that it can happen to anyone.

(2,947 posts)As a disgusted white female Dem, Ill bet its lots less likely to happen to me. These fascist assholes who vote for laws to suppress the voices of voters need to go far away.

(46,918 posts)in red states. They deliberately scrub the voter rolls regardless of how long you've lived at your address or how many years you've voted. They don't want Dems voting. They'll throw in a few urban whites too to prove they're not racist but it's by geography. They want rural votes not urban.

(84,144 posts)Because they know they cant win fair n square.
They can only win by CHEATING.
If they hope to win, theyll CHEAT.
And nowadays, with the demographics expanding against them, they still win because they CHEAT.
They keep winning because they keep CHEATING.
They have to CHEAT to win.

(10,518 posts)She got a new drivers license and voter registration to reflect her current name. She voted that way for Obama in 2008, but just before the next election she received her voter registration card and thought to look it over since Texas had just changed the voter ID rules and discovered that they had changed her last name back to mine which would have prevented her from voting since it would not match her drivers license.
There is no way the computer on it's own decided to change her voter registration, it had to be intentional. They are willing to do just about anything to stay in power. Please remind your friends, family and co-workers to check their voting status etc., well before the election so you would have time to fix anything that may prevent you from casting your vote.

Sadly, we already knew this. The huge problem, that is.
