I always try to find the positive in all our candidates.. but I am finally done

I am done done done.. I can find nothing positive about what the Sanders campaign is doing right now. Done.. Stick a fork in it.

He is going to lose and lose big today.

I hope he understands, that this loss is one of his own making.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I can’t get past it. It discolored my view of him permanently.

One always searches for the “good sport thing” in a case like this. We sure saw it from Amy Klobuchar, Mayor Pete, Beto, Cory Booker, and now, Kamala Harris. Good sports, graciousness, being considerate of their colleagues, the prevailing competitor, and the voters. Kamala’s courtesy toward Warren, not endorsing til the last woman stepped out of the ring, says a lot about her as a person. A lot good.

That’s something we did NOT see from Bernie for half the summer of 2016. They fought all the way to the end of primary season when Hillary decisively clinched the nomination by the numbers. THAT was the time to step up and join her fight. But he STILL wouldn’t give up. He sat things out all the way from the end of primary season to AFTER nomination night. He could have been a MIGHTY force for unity.

Hillary was exactly that, immediately after Obama clinched the nomination by the numbers at the end of the 2008 primary season. She immediately shifted gears to campaigning FOR a former rival, and that probably made a difference in November of that year. She went for unity - of Party, for Country. Bernie on the other hand stuck to pouting and holding out for magical hoards of voters who really never existed. She could have used his help, cementing party unity leading up to the convention instead of having to face a wall of division that rightfully and logically should have given way, but refused to do so.

She tore that wall down in 2008. He kept the wall up long past its sell-by date in 2016.

I hope TO GOD he doesn’t try that stunt again this year.

i wish i could take back my vote for him in 2016.
by now i despise looking at him and listening to him.
i will say though, i think there is a troll farm working on the BS that his supporters are spreading on twitter at least, if not elsewhere. Jill Stein started showing up at the top of my thread a couple days ago talking about Joe Biden's supposed dementia (hello? Anyone looked at trump lately?!). I blocked her and am not the only one.

i'm having a really hard time figuring out who thinks this shit will help Sanders's campaign. It's sinking it imo. So I'm at a loss trying to figure where it's coming from. I think russia is a likely candidate. So maybe it worked so well for trump in 2016, russia thinks they can swing the Democratic election with the same shit?

On the other hand there's Shaun King (blocked now), Robert Reich, etc, basically trying to command others to vote for bernie by patronizing and fearmongering.

i don't know. i hope joe blows him out of the water today.

I will never stay home on election day... but as I suspect (not proven, I just suspect) the established leaders of the Democratic Party have joined forces to prefer one candidate over the other. That is NOT their role as the DNC. Thinking minds don't like to be told who to vote for. And believe it to my core that if Mr. Sanders wanted this kind of thing to stop, he would address it. He hasn't and won't. I agree with most of his policies by the way. But the Bernie Bros and his OWN staff are losing this nomination for him. I'm beginning to think that it was a mistake to let him run in the Democratic primary period. Yes, I know the argument's for him being in but his negatives are really starting to skyrocket. Way too many of his supporters , not all, but too many will be sitting out/throwing away their ballots anyway if he's not the nominee. Why should the Democratic party put up with this?

Tue Mar 10, 2020, 09:27 AM
Mar 2020

They had NO plan for a consolidated race. Their plan, in my view, was to rely on the large field staying in the race, getting to a large plurality of delegates heading in to the convention, and daring the party establishment to take it from them. Sanders and his team of crackpot hires never had a strategy for broadening his base. He can't be ideologically flexible at all; it's simply not in his nature and the basis of a "revolution" can never be compromise, in the mind of the revolutionary. Now, he's completely toast, his window is nearly completely closed, and his people are lashing out. It's disgusting. I hope Joe can end this bullshit by next Tuesday so we have time to heal whatever rifts are able to be healed within the party.

I think their plan all along was to eek out a plurality from a divided field, why else would they have been pushing that meme right after Nevada? Now that the field has consolidated largely behind Biden they have nothing left other than to burn as many bridges as possible.

I hope today puts the whole thing out of reach for Sanders. We need to unify and not drag this out unnecessarily in a repeat of '16.

Tue Mar 10, 2020, 10:48 AM
Mar 2020

He saw that his base was very loyal. So was Trump's. He appears to have thus reasoned that, with that base, he could make a case for a brokered convention. He therefore didn't see the need to stay in the Democratic Party and expand his base (or at least not antagonize Democrats).

He failed to learn other lessons:

- some of his loyal followers are very poor representatives.

- Other people would also learn from 2016. Trump did well in large part because the Republican pool remained divided after Super Tuesday. Democrats saw that and learned to consolidate as soon as possible.

I was in for Bernie in 2016, then him and his crowd disgusted me with their antics as that primary and the G.E. wore on. My tipping point was his "I'm a democratic party member from now on" statement where he was clearly holding his nose saying it. Didn't exactly prove to me he cared. Then he bolted as soon as he could, now he wants to be back and lead us. Nope, that's too much flip flopping for me to take and shows he really can't stick it out when things get rough.

As leader of the Democratic Party, he has to lead both his 'revolutionaries' and the rank-and-file that he trashes as the "establishment" on a daily basis. I don't see him doing that, I don't even see him caring about the rank-and-file at all.

I was done with Bernie before this campaign started. I've watched him hoping to see him change, but he's not changing. My door has been open to every other candidate (well not Tulsi), and I was willing to let Sanders win me back, but he hasn't even tried. His is the same failed thing as 2016. He's shown he doesn't learn from his mistakes. That's bad leadership.

I was for Warren and I'm sad she's out. But Bernie is a hard no for me at this point in the primaries. I'm voting for Joe when my state is up for voting later this month. I'm done.

In a little bit, I'm switching my pick to Biden. As I write this, it is "undecided" where before it was Warren.

If by some miracle Bernie does win the nomination, I will vote for him in the G.E. and I won't even blink doing it. I won't say bad things about him, I pledged to be good, but my donations will be for down ticket races.
