It depends on the administration. Biden accepted the position on the condition that he would be "in the room" and involved in decision making. I have a feeling that he would treat his VP with the same respect that Obama did.

That said though, she would be an extraordinary AG. Its like she was born for the job! And there will be a lot of cleaning up to do after Trump leaves office.

Her term ends in January 2023, though, so her options include serving as U.S. senator. That seems to be overly discounted -- if we get control of the senate that'll be a whole different situation, full of magnificent opportunities with the power McConnell's caucus controls now. And with one hell of a lot of hugely important work to do repairing, rebuilding, and advancing our government and nation.

friend and assistant president that he would want, someone who could be to him what he was to Obama. In 2015, he wanted Elizabeth Warren. And reportedly at that time, as he considered whether to run after his son died, she was his only choice, to the point that they met to discuss it.

Of course, who knows? A man who looks ahead like that may have met some time ago with someone else, maybe Senator Harris or someone he feels very good about but we've scarcely heard of.

after, or alongside, State and Defense, and the AG of course needs to be more independent.

The image of easygoing Joe with also some very dynamic, turn-this-country-around women in cabinet positions, continually hitting him up for the power to do more, is an amusing but good one. Let's throw Hillary in for whichever position she feels she can make the biggest difference and do the most good through. A team with even one Frances Perkins could be awesome, but more would be better with all this talent and enormous work to do.

Something like "I would consider Harris for any political position in my administration that she requests.", or "Harris is well qualified to fulfill any position in the new administration, and I will definitely consider her."

But, he'd consider Kamala Harris "for anything she wants"??? I know a lot of people will have a field day with that, I can see comedians salivating about it already.
