Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Juan PR

.UPDATE...
A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the main island of Puerto
Rico. Tropical Storm Dorian will continue to approach the local
islands on Tuesday night, resulting in an increase in showers and
thunderstorms. The rainiest day will be Wednesday during the
daytime. So far, we are expecting rainfall accumulation of 2 to 4
inches with higher isolated amounts up to 6 inches. In terms of
winds, the municipalities around the southern, southwestern and
western areas of Puerto Rico should experience tropical storm
force winds, while the rest of the Island could see gusty winds
with the showers and thunderstorms.

So far, Vieques, Culebra and the U.S. Virgin Islands are not under
a Tropical Storm Watch. However, the residents in these islands
should still monitor the progress of Dorian in case there is a
northern adjustment in the forecast track.
