(2,798 posts)With regard to Bernie, the fact that the CSM is confused about his party affiliation should tell you that he ought to do something about that. He ought to clearly identify himself as a democrat. Just my advice, which he is free to ignore.
Just like present unrest in Baltimore, which should be laid at the feet of the present mayor and not O'Malley, continues to dog O'Malley, so the "socialist" label will continue to dog Bernie until he makes it clear publicly that he is a democrat. Or at least call himself a "socialist democrat" rather than a "democratic socialist." Nouns have priority over adjectives.

(2,798 posts)All of this is a learning experience and an adventure for me. I hope all of us like-minded progressives can help each other out in the hard work of getting past superficial impressions of things. Our greatest enemies are not each other, but uninformed opinions.

(50,751 posts)The only candidate to be outspoken? Seems to me Bernie is also outspoken about Wall Street.
FWIW, I support both Martin and Bernie at this point.

(2,798 posts)Elizabeth Warren has done that too.
As O'Malley has said, you can get pulled over for having a broken taillight; but if you break the economy, you are untouchable.

I might have to make room in my sigline for a Martin graphic, because he's looking really good so far!
