O'Malley in Iowa: Donald Trump's a racist.
Just a day after Donald Trump was at the Iowa State Fairgrounds calling on African-Americans to vote for him, Democrat Martin OMalley told a gathering of Democrats in Des Moines that the GOP nominees a racist.
Its time to put this racist bully in his place and a tough woman in hers, the White House, former Maryland governor and 2016 presidential candidate Martin OMalley said Sunday, referring to Trump and Hillary Clinton. He was wrapping up the program at the Progress Iowa Corn Feed at the Simon Estes Amphitheatre in Des Moines.
OMalley brought up news reports about a 1973 Justice Department lawsuit over racial discrimination against Trump and his father, Fred Trump. OMalley said Trump redlined his apartments just like he redlined his campaign.
OMalley said in an interview that Trumps overtures to African-Americans perhaps signal a recognition that most Americans dont care for that sort of hateful and racist language that Trump has promoted.
I think its far too late in this process for Donald Trump to change his racist stripes, OMalley said. I mean, hes been pretty clearfrom the get-go that hes appealing to the worst instincts of some of us who have fear of the future or fear of diversity.">>>
