Martin O’Malley Makes Stop at West Des Moines Library.

'Democrat Martin O’Malley made a stop in the metro Saturday before heading to the western part of the state.

O'Malley spoke at the West Des Moines Pubic Library. He focused on issues such as gun control and ISIS.

“We have a responsibility to join other like-minded people in the region and in this world to address and contain and defeat that sort of evil,” O’Malley said.

One woman at the event says she was a Bernie Sanders supporter, before switching over to supporting O’Malley after doing further research.

“I listened to more of his speeches, looked him up online and his website, and I read more about him on his stance on things,” Tamsin Webb said. “Then I was at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner and out of all three of the candidates I thought that he was definitely, he inspired me the most."

The former governor of Maryland will also make stops later Saturday night in Atlantic, Storm Lake and Le Mars.'
