'Democratic presidential hopeful Martin OMalley secured 28 endorsements from Iowa Democrats Monday, less than 24 hours after giving what some Iowa political watchers said was a breakout performance at the second Democratic primary debate in Des Moines.
The latest round of backers include an influential central Iowa Democratic chairman, local school board officials and a candidate for the Iowa House of Representatives.
The following Iowa Democrats endorsed OMalley, a former Maryland governor and Baltimore mayor, over Democratic rivals Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.: . . .
Malley has been endorsed by over 80 public officials, community leaders and Democratic activists, in the last four months, according to his Iowa operatives.
In early September 17 state Democrats backed his presidential campaign, including former U.S. Rep. Berkley Bedell, D-Iowa, Sen. Rich Taylor, D-Mt. Pleasant and Rep. Daniel Kelley, D-Newton.'

(1,464 posts)This is such good news. O'Malley's gotten the support of many Democratic County Chairs. These are people who can GOTV for the caucus which will be a huge help for him.
He also had good turnout at his Iowa events in the last couple of days.

(1,464 posts)He's got the backing of Dem county chairs and other local candidates who are used to GOTV. Plus, many of his volunteers are experienced at GOTV for past campaigns. This is what helped Obama immensely in 2008. Hillary has backers from higher in the Iowa Party but they didn't help in 2008 and in the case of Vilisack, he can't do anything as a cabinet head.
Plus, O'Malley is the 2nd choice for both a lot of Sanders supporters and Hillary supporters. That will help him pick up delegates.
I am not worried about Iowa. I am more worried that he gets out of Iowa in 2nd and can't raise enough money to compete in Nevada which I think will be his 2nd best state of the first 4.

(135,864 posts)as I think a #2 in Iowa would get him LOTS of EVERYTHING!
He's #2 for 'everyone' here too, BOTH Bernie + HRC supporters, and if it's the same in Iowa and it works to his benefit in caucuses, that's GREAT!
