1. Please. Don't tell me that it is possible to "talk' and "reason" with republicans

I like O'Malley, but he is so, so wrong here.

Maybe there was a time when dialogue was possible, but that ended decades ago.

republicans only want to undermine Democrats, and destroy them.

3. I have no trouble disliking many Republicans, especially the Republican candidates.

But it is unreasonable to demonize all Republicans since, as O'Malley says, we relate to and rely on many of them every day. Many of them are friends, relatives, and neighbors. We may avoid talking politics with them, but why should we hate them? In my opinion, there is too much hate, too much anger, too much vitriol. It has to stop somewhere.

2. I agree with him to an extent

As much as I can't stand my Congressman - he's someone who when push comes to shove goes against his party when his party members in square states are doing things that will harm his district. He can work with him.

Ernst? Cruz? No way. If the are homophobes, bigots, anti privacy for women - we need to talk around them and behind their backs.

However if he succeeds - it will be because his oppononent is running as a despotic totalitarian doing unconstitutional things. He is going to look quite reasonable and accomplished even if the opposition selects a governor/former governor as their nominee.
