Martin O'Malley
Related: About this forumMartin O’Malley argued on Wednesday that the race for the Democratic nomination “only just began.”
'OMalley also went after Hillary Clinton for naming Republicans among enemies she is proud to have made during her career.
I dont consider Republicans to be my enemy, said the former governor of Maryland. Republicans are my neighbors, theyre my theyre my uncles, theyre sometimes my family members, and, um, you know, theyre the guy that comes that calls, that comes when your family has to call 911 and a paramedic comes to take your son or daughter to the hospital.
OMalley added Clintons comment was why people in our nation are hungry for new leadership.
Weve had enough of the division, he said. Weve had enough of the vilification of one another. We need to talk with each other, not past each other. And we need to get things done again. Thats what Ive shown the ability to do, that the other two candidates in the Democratic party frankly have never been able to do for all their years in public service.'

(45,319 posts)us like we were their enemies, they attack us and fight against our rights. O'Malley really does not get that. I do not like hearing about how great Republicans are from Democratic candidates.

(2,798 posts)There is too much self-fulfilling prophecy in our election process, and it gets in the way of objectivity.

'Hello, poll-driven pundits. Here's a belated #tbt for you to chew on. By the middle of November, 2007, Hillary still had a huge lead in the polls. Deja vu all over again?
Remember, "Mystery man" Martin O'Malley is just beginning to catch on.

IMPORTANT edit: 'Clinton Sustains Huge Lead in Democratic Nomination Race.
In the national standings of the Democratic presidential candidates seeking their party's nomination next year, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton continues to hold a strong 27-point lead over second-place rival Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, according to a new Gallup Poll. Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards remains further behind in third place.
According to the Nov. 11-14, 2007, poll, 48% of Democrats say they are most likely to support Clinton for the partys presidential nomination in 2008, followed by Obama at 21% and Edwards at 12%. No other candidate garners more than 4% support.'

(2,798 posts)Election decided before the voting begins. Crazy and meaningless talk.
Why not skip the actual voting process and let polls decide the winner?
O'Malley's confidence is growing because he understands how Iowa caucuses work.
