O'Malley: 'We already have too many candidates of Biden's generation.'

'Asked how a potential Biden candidacy would affect his plans and whether he was gunning for the No. 2 spot as well, the 52-year-old former governor of Maryland answered: "I know Vice President Biden very well. I have a tremendous amount of affection and respect for him."

"If he were to get into this race, he certainly would bring a lot of experience and that perspective, but I think his generation is already overly represented in our party in this field," he added.

Biden, who has been considering a run for the Democratic nomination, would be the oldest president elected for a first term in U.S. history. So would Hillary Clinton, who will be 69 years old on Jan. 20, 2017.

"So I’m going to speak to where our country’s going," O'Malley pledged, noting that he is going to stay on message and not say anything about his opponents, including Republican Donald Trump.

"There's a big difference between entertainment and presidential leadership," he remarked, shortly before making reference to Katy Perry's upcoming appearance at a Clinton rally this weekend. O'Malley then whipped out his guitar, saying that he would "offer this up for Taylor Swift" before launching into a rendition of "Bad Blood."'
