G-S was repealed gradually under Carter, Reagan and Clinton. It was Carter that began weakening the law, and that process continued over the next 20 years.

This is not to absolve Clinton for signing the final repeal; he was wrong. But rather, just to note that G-S was repealed gradually over a 20 year period. It was Clinton who finished off what was left of the law.

I wasn't studying such things when Carter was around; just began working for fed administrative agency, so 'deregulation' did get my attention. Too damn bad!
