The 76-year-old Brooklyn native eschewed a hat, even as the mercury hit a chilly 15 degrees F, as he watched in his waterproof parka, although he did later give in and had a blanket draped across his knees

Temperatures plummeted to 15 degrees F on Monday morning, as the crowds layered up against the cold

It's suppose to get to 12 above in Minneapolis tomorrow and the local weather people were almost giddy about it (if, for no other reason, some of the road chemicals may finally start to work, at least a little).

The sad thing is when you go from 10 below to 12 above, you can feel a difference.

NEW YORK (WABC) -- 2018 arrives in the New York area with some of the coldest weather of the season, with potential wind chills below zero.

Monday will be frigid with sunshine and a biting wind as temperatures stay in the teens, but feel more like single digits or even below zero.
