Stands for "Jackpine Radicals" - not "Jefferson Public Radio."
But at some point, I'm sure it will become the first Google result.
(Just thought I'd mention that on the way out, since there are still some who haven't gotten the memo.)

(13,869 posts)but at this point, there's not much reason to care anymore about hidden posts, as long as you don't get two in a day. It's clear by looking at their transparency pages that many users have simply stopped giving a fuck, though.
See this thread in AtA for one example of a hide simply for linking to JPR: http://www.democraticunderground.com/125910615

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
This post is trying to drive traffic to a website that solicits donations and is a direct competition to DU. They also disparage Skinner and DU members by name. This should be hidden.

(23,272 posts)I ignored it.
Skinner actually owns a site that really DOES do everything JPR is falsely accused of - Discussionist. He deliberately set up a DU "competition" site, tolerates "vile" comments @ Hillary and the admins, and DU members are Dummies.
His response to merrily indicates to me that he's going to let juries hide or not. But if Hillary supporters are going to try to hide any post mentioning JPR, then Discussionist should be off limits.
I have to laugh @ the accusations @ JPR - they don't even allow ANY discussion of DU or members. And yup, it's a site dedicated to changing the Democratic party which means Hillary isn't protected there from real criticism.

(7,321 posts)I had forgotten about that site. Was there once, found it so vile I scooted right out of there as fast as my fingers could find the exit key.
to your point, it is rather stunning CD in display.
on another note: kinda wonder if the rise of right wingers (it seems to me) have migrated from that site?

(29,513 posts)the site for a couple of minutes as they talk about it. Like I sign on and want to check the latest news, so I click here. Then I want to see what the hot discussion topics are, so I go here. This is how to follow and comment in a discussion thread. If there's a particular group or topic I want to follow, I go here. Here's how to start a thread.
That kind of thing. They could film it and post it for $0 in 15 minutes.

(14,881 posts)but it's been confirmed to me that the migration hasn't happened yet. Everything just got very quiet for about a half hour with no new posts right after a poster mistakenly told me she was already on the new board, so I thought they'd started migrating. Apparently she was on the test version and didn't realize it.

(14,881 posts)my experience of the test version 2 is it's incredibly fast.
I'm on an antique laptop w/Vista and forced onto (I forget the browser I'm on) the last major browser that stills supports Vista.
Everything else is excrutiatingly slow loading and often takes multiple tries. So far, the test JPR is awesome!

(11,945 posts)but I just logged in to see I got another bogus hide. That makes three in just a few days. For some reason, it's always 4 to 3.
They're angry and trying to get rid of us. It's odd that those who say they think they've won should be so angry.
I hope everyone knows the primary is not over and neither candidate has won.
Will be seeing you at a pleasant place full of good, decent people.
I've loved meeting so many good Bernie supporters here.
