A lawyer will be there answering questions on a change that protects the rights of patients on probation.
The reason I'm going is they are also going to have some vendors AND a physician who will be doing evaluations for discounted medical cards/renewals. So, I'm finally going to see if I qualify for a card. I think crippling anxiety attacks AND chronic insomnia might just do the trick.
The only thing that might get in the way is I get my 2nd Pfizer jab on Thursday so I'm hoping for no bad after effects. I had none from the first jab, so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine.

(34,076 posts)a medical doctor that would apply. I did that with my peripheral neuropathy. I had some test done for it and when I pulled out those records, the Medical Card doctor said that was all I needed. You can google the Michigan rules for covered illnesses. That will help. I have a yearly appointment in Ann Arbor with the U of M dept of Neurology and give that yearly report to my Medical Card Doc.

(27,287 posts)I have a medication but the APN won't renew it since I'm looking into getting my card. That makes NO sense, to me, since I can already buy recreationally. And, I like having the option of the medication because I can't use cannabis for my SEVERE 'white coat' anxiety issues, before a medical appointment, and then drive. I'm mainly looking to get the card so I can get something specific enough for the insomnia, and to handle the anxiety when I'm just at home and not having to drive anywhere. I'll bring my medication with me.
We'll see. My APN did recommend another place where she said I would have no problem getting the card.
