I'm about to invest 3500$ in a grow box......

...By BC Northern Lights. Pot is legal where I live but my growing season is SO bad I have 9 month old plants STILL VEGGING!

I live high up in the mtns in a canyon so lots of shade. The last 2 years I have had minimal crops but at least I harvested something! This year the smoke from the forest fires blocked out what little sun I had.

I drag them all inside and rig lights in my shower, then spider mites got them and now they are just zombies. Not alive but not dead either. Its so sad

Now with Sessions threatening our rights I'm just gonna go underground again.

Has anyone used a grow box? the one I want has separate compartments for vegging and flowers. I can at least get some kind of crop in 3months. The damned electricity...however...is gonna run 22-42$ a month.

Anyone have great success???

Pots cheap right now and Holidays and 420 I can get 40$ ozs but I like the growing experience.

For between $100 and $200. And another hundred or two for a good light. Box sounds like over kill to me.

..its still too cold to use it as it needs to be 60 degrees in the room I have it in. its huge. way bigger than I thought and came with a three ring binder of instructions and 24/7 support.. who are in my time zone so I wont be crazy calling them in the middle of the night.

11. WELL HELL!! Thats a really good price for the Leaf..and BC Northern Lights had

..a nice model in that price range. I decided to go up one notch because this one has a veg room (or mother plant room) and a flower room...each with their own computerized lighting and nutes. Sometimes its the shipping that's prohibitive. This one only had to travel from BC..just a cpl hundred miles and it was still 400$(I got it for 200$ as there was some shipping special). The only thing it doesn't have is the app (I loved that!!) and the camera. We have cams all over our house anyway so we will install one in the box.

I'm forwarding the leaf info to my son in law.

I grow one plant at a time in a small (2x3x5) tent with a 400 watt light.

I grow more than I use.

Pot plants don't need an expensive box. Outside they can fall on the dirt and grow without any help at all.

If I was buying again, I'd go LED.

A good way to start is with a General Organics GO Box. It even has instructions on the side of the box.

You will see a lot of yak, testing devices and such. To start with, ignore it. Focus on the basics, which amounts to potting soil made for pot, careful germination, and avoiding overwatering.

6. seeds dont fall and grow in dirt where i live..

..that's why I splurged on this box. Its got a clone room and a grow room. The first year will be a HUGH learning curve for me. All this chemistry and stuff. It does have LED lights...and 6 months worth of nutes. Ive never done hydro before. Yep its gonna give me way more than I'm allowed to have for sure. I will just bake a LOT of brownies and have them in the freezer for the zombie apocalypse.

Nice light you sent! Once I unpack mine I will see what lights I have. Everything is still packed in the 3 blue rubber tubs full o'stuff they sent. I'm forwarding the Go Box info to my son in law.

4. Have you looked into automatic strains?

I could do three rounds a season outdoors back in Illinois. They are part Ruderalis and bloom by age instead of light cycle. Once seeds pop veg them for 2 weeks and they start showing sex. Like 6 weeks after that they're done. I havent messed with them for awhile but hear the strains have just been getting better and better over the years.
I also grew some in a homemade box for awhile on a stagger crop. Since you can flower at 16/8 you can veg right along with your bloom. Start a few seeds once a week and you will be harvesting a little every week. Very satisfying growing experience.

Here is a grow journal from like 10 years go with the homemade box and staggered autos

7. wow thanks! I will check out that grow journal! I cant use auto flower with this

....and I have a hard enough time getting regular seeds and clones now. They are mostly in Seattle and too snowy on the pass to drive there. I have some seeds coming from a friends own strain to pop soon.

The 'satisfying grow experience' is what I missed all last year...and barely had one the year before.

Ship discreetly. Haven't had any problems. They can even ship clones in containers with leds now. The autos were definitely fun and a lot less forgiving then a 12/12 grow. They come in feminized or regular. I like regular so I can make more seeds. It was easy peasy since they sex so early

8. ok the box arrived about 3 weeks ago. An 18 wheeler was going to deliver it..

...to my house! The roads narrow and curvy and icy. I'm done pulling trucks off my hill that don't make it. Hubby met them in town and got it on the pick up. its HUGE! The size of a 5 ft high chest freezer...all computerized. It even has locking doors on both chambers! Right now I'm storing cases of Costco T-paper on top of it..will probably be ready to fire it up march sometime.

But until then I got 54$ ozs locally.
