Cannabis

So I live in a state where my relief from pain and the side effects of weekly oral chemo pills and daily other medicines is illegal. The people of my state voted overwhelmingly to legalize cannabis but the state department of health has refused to follow the will of the people and has only legalized in very restrictive terms, THC free oils.
Now my problem. My guy has refused to return texts from me as was our standard form of dealing. I know no one here who could help me (that I know of). I was so uncomfortable that I even perused Craigslist for about five seconds before I shut it down. I would never go that dangerous route.
How unfair is it that an issue relegated to the individual states can have such an impact?
Luckily, the guy who spearheaded the legalization movement here is suing the State in order to allow for sick people to be able to obtain and smoke, if desired, their mechanism of relief. My doctor has said that he will sign whatever letters and recommendations necessary for me to be able to obtain as soon as it's available.
So, in the meantime I'm shaking various trees to see what shakes loose.
I hope no one else finds themselves in my predicament.
Peace

(39,358 posts)It's like New Jersey. They made it so restrictive that it's not really legal at all.

(228 posts)Represent States with legal or medical. There is no excuse for them not representing the will of their people.
The right to grow your own food and herbal medicines is one of the most important rights that we the people neglect.
There is absolutely no reason for it to be illegal a plant that has killed less teens than football. Caused less long term health problems than football. Yet politicians are always so worried about the children their lame excuse is always the safety of the children. But if a teen gets busted with the plant in my State, they take them to the most dangerous violent and disease ridden places called the county jail. Its not about safety its about oppression.

(7 posts)I don't know what is it with the Northeast and an unusually puritan attitude towards the matter. It irks me too, but we just got it passed in Florida 8 months back and considering the politics of NJ, I frankly don't know what's holding them back. Stalemate? Incompetence? Or puritanism?
