Re-discovering the jefferson airplane.

Two or three weeks ago, I rolled up a fat doobie in anticipation of friends dropping by. They never showed so I decided to save the doob' for my next 90 mile road trip to the city for a re-fill.

That was yesterday. And though for 20 years my preferred form of delivery has been the pipe, a nice simple trip puffing on a cigarette sounded like a nice change, a flashback to when a "fat doobie" was the only delivery system.

However, once I got down to the best part (you know, the roach!), I remembered one of the reasons I switched to pipes was eliminating the 'roach' and not having to hide a 'clip on your key chain. So, as I cruised down the highway I scanned the inside of my car for a pair of pliers or some kind of a clamp...anything mechanical to keep my fingertips from burning.

All I saw was an empty coffee cup, a screwdriver, some scrap paper and... a book of matches!!
Tore out a match, split it evenly down to the match head and...problem solved. From now on, I think I'll just stick with a pipe.

2. What's really amazing...

...is how we can make a pipe out of anything. There were long periods in the 'black market' when only hash was available to the smoking public. We tried, but joints were not an option.
TIN FOIL, one of the 20th century greatest inventions, played a huge role with BIC pens, apples, pins under a glass etc....

Making a pipe out of fuel line couplers available at most truck stops saved us from transporting smelly used pipes back and forth across the border. It was painfully easy to conceal a gram or 2 of hash. Some truck stops even sold 'screens'...??!!

3. What's really amazing to me

Driving around Portland, Oregon, seeing roadside billboards advertising dispensaries specialties.
The wide range of edibles, beverages and topicals.
Or laying back into a bathtub infused with CBD salts to sooth what ails ya.
