I need advice about vaping.

I live in a state where cannabis is legal, and I have been using it for pain relief. Since I don't have a medical card, I can't buy certain forms of it. I currently smoke it but I don't want all the tars from it in my lungs. I would like advice from any of you about vaping devices that you can use with the plant as well as concentrates. I know that some of them are quite expensive, and I don't want to plunk down a lot of money without getting some recommendations.

I thank you in advance.

It works with unprocessed, wax, oils, and has a heat setting that can be adjusted to vape certain parts of the product more efficiently. It's easy to maintain too.

Dab bongs and pipes are not good for smoking flower. I suggest you try the prefilled cartriges with the screw on battery (looks like an ecig) before spending alot for a bong. Usually $20 for the battery and $40 for a two gram cartridge. It will last longer than $40 of flower.

I smoke for immediate relief, or vape. I use an oil with mostly cbds to rub on painful joints and muscles, and low dose medibles for whole body relief.
If you are in Oregon, pm me for local info

On edit: i see i am behind the times lol.... So many new gizmos out there now!

I have a MM card, and have been looking for something with a thin enough consistency to help with my diabetic neuropathy.

The indica flower I have tried smoking takes the edge off the burning, but I'd like to find a topical with a low thc content.

Thank you in advance.

Dispensarys often have ready mixed topical of different strengths. Budtenders are happy to show you what works for other patients so pick their brains too.

You may be able to find cbd oil there too. A few drops blended into a trial size bottle of lotion or olive oil as a make your own.

You can also heat thc heavy oil to above 145degrees or so. That will convert the thc to cbd, then mix with oil or lotion to apply. I've never felt a head high from topical though if thats what you are worried about.

You might also try a whole plant tincture. There are many more beneficial components in mj then just thc and cbd.

I don't mind the high. . It's just that with the indica flower the amount I have to smoke to get real pain relief tends to leave me baked. Which is fine, if I don't have to do much of anything or drive anywhere.

I drove up to Oregon on a bit of a vacation to give MM a try before I went through the process down here. A dispensary in Phoenix. Very positive experience.

When I was at the dispensary in Phoenix they gave me a free gram of something called Baby Stewie that tested at a bit over 34% thc.

I hadn't really smoked anything in 30 years.

Thought I got hit by a freakin' train.

I had a similar experience. I'm pretty sensitive to just about any kind of medication.

Shortly after I got my prescription, the dispensary gave me a 2 dose candy. I cut it in half and had it with breakfast. 3 hours later it hit. I could barely make to the bed. I could not move for nearly 3 hours. My brain felt like it was in a popcorn popper. Not pleasant.

Since then I've been very careful about dosage.

I had last had pot in the 80's It has changed.

I've found that I'm pretty much a light weight when it comes to smoking. So when I tried edibles I was careful. Half a candy bar from 4:20 Dark Chocolate.
https://www.leafly.com/dispensary-info/bud-hut---everett-recreational/menu

It gave me a mild high that lasted a while. But later use with the whole candy bar didn't give me that much more. Similar experiences happened with other types of edibles, sometimes x amount would have y effect sometimes the same amount would give me a greater or lesser experience.

So far the only edible to really knock me down was some home made cheese cake and I only had a quarter of a portion.

It is not from diabetes, it is from multiple sclerosis. Let me know what you are doing that helps with the pain.

I find indicas are better for pain than sativas are.

I've tried edibles but they aren't suitable for me as I lost 1/2 of my intestinal tract several years ago and have difficultly with food and just about anything else one can swallow.

The edibles keep coming up on me. The only one I've found that seems easy to use is called Green Hornet which is a gummy bear type of edible. They have it in indica or sativa strains and it is not expensive (a 4-pack for $10 which almost any one can afford).

Best of luck and let me know your findings.

I love the darn thing so much I bought another battery so I'd always have one ready when the other dies.
The charge witha USB plug
.5 and 1.0 gram cartridges are available from many companies and the $30 Banzai vape 1g lasts me longer than an 1/8 of flower usually does.
Plus it's easy and there's no ash or mess.

We use a Vapor Brothers vaporizer that we've had for over ten years. They're not cheap, but they're made well. We use vape pens with a push button for oil cartridges. And for hash, we attach a Cloutank to the push button vaporizer.

About vaping: There is an adjustment period when you switch from smoking, but it's a short one, and the benefits are SO worth it. Smoking raises your blood pressure and heart rate, and many of us, especially long-time cannabis users, have come to associate that physical sensation with the high kicking in, and have used that as a cue to gauge whether or not to stop or keep going. With vaping, the cue is missing. It is possible to take in more than you need and not realize it right away. I recommend giving yourself a minute or two between puffs, at least until you are experienced and know exactly what kind of dosage you need.

It was all helpful. I decided to order a Cloud V Phantom Premium, since it sounds easy to use and is also not too expensive. From reading about various products it seems that the technology is developing rapidly, so by the time I want to upgrade to a different model, there probably will be more choices that are not so expensive.

I think it would be helpful to those of us with little experience in such matters to have an on-going thread about this to share people's experience with different devices.

Again, thank you all for responding. My vaporizer is supposed to arrive in the mail tomorrow, and I can't wait to try it!

I have also used the MicroG and Dr. Dabber vape pens for wax, but found those to irritate my lungs. I don't think it is the vape itself that is the problem... rather it is the wax that is not simpatico with my body.

I suppose if your vape is going to explode, you may not have much warning, unless maybe the battery starts getting very hot.

At this point, the number of vapes exploding has to be miniscule, but it's something to be aware of.

Would strongly recommend. Got one in 2008 and it would probably still be going had I not dropped it (!).

So, I bought another one.

For $150.00 it is a very good investment. No more papers, lighters, roach burns, smoke nor odor. Yes, definitely the way to go. If you get one of these and have questions, you can call them and ask any you may have.

Can't beat this deal!

As for the lungs, I had 3 major surgeries and before the operations my lung capacity was tested. It came in at 99% oxygen levels which is as good as one can get!

Best of luck with this --
