I have a few zips in quart Mason jars that have cured for 2 months now. I recently added Boveda packs to each jar. I burp the jars every few days at this point. I did burp them daily to start.
I'm going on a trip and was wondering how to store them for months at a time.
My first thought was to gently vacuum seal bag them and put them in the freezer.

(31,835 posts)would place buds in glass jars and freeze them. I don't recall exactly how long it stayed in the freezer, but everything was still fresh and aromatic when used. I don't know if the aroma would migrate through the sealer bags or not if they were used alone. They're pretty thick and heavy.
Mason jars do work well.

(2,963 posts)I've been freezing mine in vacuum sealed bags, never thought of using mason jars. I'm going to switch now.

(1,241 posts)they are still plenty green as to stay legal. In Montana you can have one ounce of usable in your possession, wet isn't usable. Then I put them in freezer bags, suck the air out with a straw, and toss them in the freezer. As I use it I take out a handful at a time, put it on a tray for a couple days and it's ready or cure it in a jar. Good for a year. I never use jars anymore.

I was a little hesitant if it would work with my Waring hand held vacuum seal gun but it does!!
My long term storage plan now is....a Boveda pack in each jar, vacuum seal the jars, and store in a dark cool place.
Thanks all!

(9,669 posts)So far, I've stored about 2 oz of high-quality weed in the fridge in those small soda stash cans. Each one only holds about 1/4 oz but even after six months in the fridge, the weed comes out fragrant and potent.
I've also noticed that with cannabis oil, they recommend you refrigerate it, but none of those syringes will even fit in a beverage stash can, so I have stored them at room temp, and after a few months, they are still as potent as ever.
The "stash can" industry needs to up its game a bit by making larger units with better seals for all of us who still live in red states where the state legislature is still Neanderthal.
