i'm experimenting with cannabutter and oil

made a couple cups of vegetable oil and a few sticks of butter yesterday. used the oil in a salad dressing last night and it turned out quite well. tonight i'm going to fry some up some chicken fingers. of course, there has to be a batch of brownies and i'm adding some walnuts i candied with a bit of the butter.

i used a lighter hand in terms of material vs fat ratio since it's my first attempt and edibles hit me really inconsistently, but i'm having fun with it.

I had a friend who did it for years on his birthday. Even some seniors got into them by accident. You should have seen them dance. They were having a blast.

Pan fried white fish is good with the butter too.

Also, try infusing coconut oil. Much healthier, but you have to cook at a lower temp, no higher than 350, or it smokes. I fry chicken in coconut oil in an electric frying pan with a temp gauge. I haven't fried using infused oil, but it's great for baking.

Do you think this would work with leftovers from an herbal vape pipe?

In addition the THC in the vape leftovers has already been deoxycarbolated. You don't need to "pre-heat" it like you do for raw herb.

7. I make edibles

I do make edibles, lots of them, and do specific strains as well....

I make butter and coconut oil. the process is the same. (for coconut oil, WINCO is the best cheapest place)

I grow the same strains every year and use the same trim combination. And I make a lot at a time to get consistency in the dosage.

I use small loose buds and trim of all types, one ounce per stick of butter or 1/2 cup of oil. Grind it up in a blender. Or a 1/8 ounce (Shudder) of buds per stick or 1/2 cup of oil. (I never use things like hash that are already extracts but people do, but to me, one extraction process is enough))

Put into crock pot with either oil or butter and a LOT of water. (Not oil and butter together) and bring to boil. Lower heat to simmer and let set at least 12 hours. (not sure if longer is necessary). Keep adding water so that evaporates rather than the butter or oil.

Strain through cheesecloth and a potato press (With cheese cloth inside). Put in glass bowl and put in fridge (NOT freezer) to cool and set. the butter fat will rise to the top and the solids will go to the bottom after the butter/water mixture sets. Pour the water off after the fat, butter has set firmly by cutting around the edge anddraining the water.

Measure the butter or oil and replace the lost amount (usually some loss is expected).. reheat, and use water again mixed in so it will take the solids out more (this is called washing).

usually that is enough, but sometimes solids are stuck to the bottom layer of the oil or butter and I just rinse it off with hot water.

Then I look for recipes that figure 35 to 50 pieces per 1/2 cup of either. That should give you a mild dose, one is fun two is intense kind of high. NOBODY Likes too strong and it can trigger anxiety attacks if too strong...., Some recipes, like red velvet cupcakes use both butter and oil.

By removing the solids, especially when making fine candies, the flavor is not as harsh and won't have a burned taste at high temps.

Some good things I make are macaroons, caramels, the red velvets and thin mints. They are amazing.
