(9,086 posts)Not even the most progressive mention it anymore. The issue has been lost it seems. If we want to empower workers and connect it up with populist reform of the party, we can talk about trying to revive this battle by raising the issue with our candidates.

(3,533 posts)IMO, the corporatist plan is to pass TPP, outsource jobs until 11% unemployment turns into 20-25% (Greece) and laugh when unions organize and have union halls full with no jobs to give.
My suggestions are to undue privatization and let governments hire directly again cutting out massive top management pay. This skimmed money can be spent on social programs.
Have unions save the money spent on political donations and open and create businesses for "The People." In addition to "Buy American" we could have "Buy Union."

Remember the commercial,
when you are buying that coat, dress or blouse.
Remember somewhere our union's sewing,
our wages going to feed the kids, and run the house.
We work hard, but who's complaining?
Thanks to the I.L.G. we're paying our way!
So always look for the union label,
it says we're able to make it in the U.S.A.!
We need union commercials again
