Odd Bedfellows, Lying Together (The TPP)
Posted on Truthout.org,By Jim Hightower, OtherWords April 16, 2015
Wow, 650,000 new jobs. If that's true, it's an incredibly small number. But it turns out it's not true. Who would have thought.

(4,458 posts)It's simply Exposed now to people who are becoming more Interested (as opposed to Indifferent) and aware of whats already been going on between the two party's for Decades!
Yes, essentially, there are few differences between the two party's...leadership(s). They continue to busily keep "we, the people" divided and Outright Ignore "us"......yet, "we, the people" also, basically have the same goals, distrust of congress etc, regardless of political affiliation.
The way I see it-MSM assures us there will be little to no change in the promotion of it all.....
imo and in a nutshell.

(14,255 posts)Americans, or am I supposed to be shamed because I don't want to put Americans out of work or have lower wages?
I would respect TPP shills a lot more if they just said what is really happening - fuck you, American workers.

(3,533 posts)Good, put it in the TPP that if 650,000 new jobs aren't created in 2 years the deal becomes null and void.

(55,981 posts)Also, are these min wage jobs w/o benefits? And most important, from what I've seen 650,000 isn't near enough to offset the crap in the "agreement". I say dump the whole thing now.

(84,711 posts)Bloomberg's Peter Cook reported: "Even though Republicans are for the most part on board it will be important for President Obama's Legacy getting this through with so many Democrats objecting. He also said that Wyden went along even with tremendous pressure from protesters in Oregon because he thinks it will be good for Oregon's trade with the Pacific.
Not one mention that it's not a "TRADE DEAL" but a give away to Wall Street and Silicon Valley and a threat to our national sovereignty.
They claim the Petersen Foundation did the numbers about how good it would be for the country...but gave no other group who had run the numbers who shows that it isn't good for the country and since most of it is secret (which was not mentioned at all) the Bloomberg viewer is to just assume if the "Petersen Foundation" ran the numbers ....then it is good for the country.
Thanks for the Hightower article...I needed that after watching the Bloomberg Business Garbage. It was very revealing how this is being rammed down our throats and not only that..they showed Obama's Speech about the "Trade Agreement" that was reached and it was dreadful how he was hyping it. " The best Trade agreement in our lifetime"...he said. He mentioned "concerns over NAFTA that some think it cost us jobs" but continued that "...this Trade Agreement is vital to our keeping our nation competitive globally." Blah...Blah...

(3,431 posts)a lot of protests in Germany against the transatlantic
agreement, and that the Socialist Party therefore is
reconsidering its support.
Merkel is for it of course, as a good conservative, but
she has to work with the Socialists.
I wish that our people would march in huge numbers
too, but have learned long ago that that is just a dream.

THIS more than anything, demonstrates how partisan politics is only for the 'little people'.
'Strange Bedfellows' unless you've been inside the small club whose goal it is to run the world. Up there in that rarified air, I'll bet you will meet even more 'strange' bedfellows at a cocktail party
Kerry and the Heritage Foundation. All on board for the big Corporate Heist, the latest one.
But is anyone surprised anymore?
The policies the Dem Party has been supporting over the past number of years are a Heritage Foundation Dream come true.
We NOTICED IT. OWS took to the streets to shout it to the people who had not yet caught on.
I wonder if they get a kick out of how we all squabble down here on earth over which one of them we absolutely 'trust'?
That is why they HATED OWS. That showed them we will unite as a people when they make things so tough for the people that we too won't be looking at partisanship to distract us anymore.
It's sad that those who we hired to represent us, betray that trust so often.
75% do not want the TPP to pass.
In a democracy, that would be the final blow to the madness.
Instead they simply don't care what we want.
