"The Populist Movement Has Finally Arrived" -- The Nation

If anyone is interested, I just posted this in DU "Good Reads." Describes some of the issues we've been discussing here in the past days.

------------
Occupy Wall Street put inequality at the center of our politics. Only an independent movement will keep it there.

destroying this country and others around the world.

Eg, who doesn't know now who the 1% are, even morons on the MSM who tried to dismiss the movement us their terminology, because it's important to be able to communicate without having to go into long explanations.

And yes, to turn this country around it does need an Independent Movement.

Voters need to unite in getting enough power that the Political Parties can no longer take their votes for granted, but must negotiate with them about, eg, who they would like to see in political offices.

The Third Way does this for Wall St within the Dem Party (and the MIC), but where is the powerful organization representing ordinary voters?

We have no think tanks, no money, no bargaining power. And we need it or things will just keep on going down hill towards the Right.
