The Goal of a Push Poll

Right now maybe the focus should be on getting out the message (GOTM) rather than GOTV.

A push poll focuses on our principles and can be quite valuable on making a HRC comparision.

How much cheaper can we get (the cost of a phone call) for a direct advertising campaign with producible results for the general public. With a little emotional effect in the phrasing of our questions we can possibly instill a lasting effect into the individual participants.

Who cares if the right-wing dems laugh at our results because our GENUINE message is getting out and they know it.

This approach is GRASSROOTS, one person at a time, We can do it by community, state or national push polling and possibly use our new website,"Someone Else" for results.

Could this be as effective as door-to-door or be used in combination?

If we can set the standard then the candidates must weigh their options.

If it's volunteers manning the phones, I would think it won't happen.

Do you think TV ads, radio talk shows, propaganda polls, campaign flyers, GOTV callers, campaign speeches and on and on are positive messaging?

'Would your opinion be the same if you knew he supports infanticide.' Would your opinion be the same if you knew he supports killing baby seals with clubs?' they use the 'poll' to spread lies about the subject. I would not be willing to do that.

The ones I have received were obviously professional polls from out of state, since they pronounced local people and places incorrectly.

In my state we have a town called Yachats, which I love. How would you pronounce it?

Could we break the barrier and inject truths?

Would you have a problem with "EW wants banksters to receive equal justice". Would that be a lie to you?

Would a volunteer in the Yachats region know the correct pronunciation or maybe just a phone call to the Yachats public library could get results, be creative.

You could very easily do positive push polling, simply by asking questions about Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders on various topics, having the listener 'rate' them on those topics, then tell them some positive and truthful info about Warren and Sanders and ask them if that makes their opinion of Warren or Sanders increase, decrease, or stay the same.

In reality, although it's a 'poll', you don't care what the responses are, the point is actually in making the listeners more familiar with the stances of and more favourable towards Warren and Sanders.

So for example, you ask the person how they would rate Sanders on his support of the poor and middle class. They answer, then you read them a quote like 'They talk about class warfare - the fact of the matter is there has been class warfare for the last thirty years. It's a handful of billionaires taking on the entire middle class and working class of this country. And the result is you now have in America the most unequal distribution of wealth and income of any major country on earth and the worst inequality in America since 1928. How could anybody defend the top 400 richest people in this country owning more wealth than the bottom half of America, 150 million people?'

(Ok, that quote was on the long side, but you get the idea.)

Then you ask them if knowing Sanders said that makes them more favourable or less favourable towards him.

There are PLENTY of quotes from Sanders and Warren both that could be used this way, and it gets their message out to some for the first time, to others as a reinforcement if they've heard it before.

And none of it is negative, and none of it is lies.

Eg,

1a) Do you support the TPP? Bernie Sanders does not. Hillary Clinton does. Which of these candidates do you agree with?

That is not a lie, it is a fact. How would people respond? I would respond 'Bernie Sanders'.

1b) If Sanders runs for the WH would you support him over Hillary?

I would respond 'yes' to that also.

It's possible to create a push poll that is not based on lies, imo.

can take many forms.

I'm not pro-polls but to ween people off of them will take time. If we can get our message out with integrity and truth, count me in.

IMO patience isn't an option, this must be an all-out effort to stop this corporate onslaught.

merely name recognition contests. As a matter of fact, the current push polls with Hillary on them are really just used as fund-raisers and used to attempt to bludgeon non-Hillary supporters into submission. Works for funds, probably, but has quite the opposite effect on the other.

Can't wait until I get to see what Hillary has decided her policy positions are. That would be a good starting point for a push poll - contrasting, somehow, words with actions.

Also hate the weaselly push polls that ask, basically, if you care if candidate X has stopped beating their kids.
