"Progressives: Big Ideas Will Win Us 2016" - Vote/Submit ideas HERE http://thinkbig.us/

The 2014 election was a wipeout, progressives say, because Democrats lacked a bold economic message to inspire voters. Now they have a new plan to winwith or without Hillary Clinton.
For progressives, the waning days of 2014 should be as dark a moment as their movement has faced since 2004.
...Democrats lost in 2014 because they failed to have a big, bold economic message that tangibly impacts peoples lives, said Adam Green, co-founder of the Progressive Change Campaign Committee. People didnt wake up on Election Day with a reason to vote.
To remedy that, Green and the PCCC are launching a new initiative designed to grab the agenda and drag the party leftward in the run-up to the 2016 election. On Wednesday morning, the group is announcing a plan to solicit what it is calling its Big Ideas Project with a new website, ThinkBig.Us, that will invite elected officials, policy experts, and the general public to submit and vote on the ideas they want to see the Democratic Party take control of next.
Thirty members of Congress, including Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid and Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York, have agreed to review the proposals once they are complete.
There is a hunger for big ideas, said Green. The last election, hundreds of millions of dollars were spent saying, Vote against Republicans because they will do something bad, as opposed to offering any governing vision on what we do....

(14,255 posts)Court". And that is all we have now. Plus, any other shit coming out of Washington for the next two years - a DEM president will be signing it, does not matter to the average voter, I think, who proposed bills, only who signs them.
Big ideas? Everything Bernie says. Hillary just blithers and blathers according to advice and polling.

(62,325 posts)Maybe they should just listen to Mario Cuomo's speech at the Dem Convention in 1984 which is posted here in this forum.
Or read some of FDR's Fireside Chats.
Not sure why Democrats need to ask for ideas frankly. Isn't that WHY they are Dems, because of the ideas that Dems so successfully implemented under FDR and which are still providing for the most vulnerable among us, see again, Cuomo's speech, despite the decades-long attempt from Republican and now Third Way, to destroy them?
Maybe they should just play Cuomo's speech at the Convention, but he does trash St. Ronnie and his 'trickle down' policies, so not sure if that would go over well with some in our party today.
