Pragmatism: The Justification to Ignore What's Happening to Those Less Fortunate
How incredible it has become when wanting to end poverty, end the massive incarcerations, end the endless wars, end the domestic spying by the Security State, end the worship of the wealthy, end the oppression of the MIC, etc., or at least head in that direction, is equated with wanting a pony by the Conservatives in our Party. In the 1700's they'd have been known as loyalist. Telling others that wanting freedom from Great Britain was folly, like wanting a pony.
It won't be an easy road but we can't just sit back and drink the kool aid like the Conservatives recommend (they call it pragmatism).
Support change, support Senator Sanders.

(42,649 posts)The type of incrementalism that would tell women to wait a few more years for the vote because everyone is not on board?
The type of incrementalism that says a living wage is unrealistic?
The type of incrementalism that says Medicare for all is unaffordable? As if the US can really afford the current system?
The type of incrementalism that justifies massive speaking fees as "getting our family out of poverty"?

(55,981 posts)Bullcrap. Tell that to the 50,000,000 living in poverty.
It didn't take much time for Goldman-Sachs (HRC's friend) and Wall Street in 2008 to transfer $5,000,000,000,000 from the lower classes to the super wealthy friends of HRC.
I volunteer at a foodbank and see the day to day struggle that's getting worse and worse. Wanting to end that worsening trend is scoffed at by the Conservatives in our Party.
