Reports: Carmelo Anthony tells Phil Jackson in meeting he wants to remain with Knicks

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony told team president Phil Jackson in a meeting on Tuesday that he wants to remain in New York, Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reports.

Anthony had a “calm” conversation and still does not intend on waiving his no-trade clause should the Knicks come to an agreement on a trade, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Jackson’s close friend Charley Rosen stirred up a controversy in recent days, writing on Tuesday for FanRag Sports that Anthony “has outlived his usefulness in New York.” That article made its way to Anthony, who responded on Sunday.

“If they feel like my time in New York is over I guess that’s a conversation we should have,” he said following a loss to the Raptors
