Chloe Kitts wins SEC tournament MVP after leading South Carolina women's basketball to third straight title
GREENVILLE — Chloe Kitts has been named the SEC tournament MVP after three strong performances for South Carolina women's basketball en route to a third straight tournament title.
Kitts was crucial to the No. 1 seed Gamecocks winning their fifth SEC tournament championship in the last six years, logging a team-high 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists and a block and steal in the title game.
Kitts started the tournament with a dominant performance against Vanderbilt, logging 25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in the Gamecocks' 84-63 win on Friday. She averaged 16.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over the three games, shooting 74.2% from the field.
The No. 1 seed Gamecocks won 64-45 over No. 2 seed Texas (31-3) at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Sunday.
