Lions' QB Jared Goff part of group bidding to bring WNBA to Detroit
While the chants may cool off for a while (maybe it’s time to give it a little break anyways), Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff continues to endear himself to the city. This time by being part of the group that is bidding to bring a WNBA team back to the city of Detroit.
“No. Not right now,” Goff said at the time. “Maybe 20 years from now, 30 years from but not right now. I don’t have enough money to do that.”
Goff would join a growing list of former athletes who have waded into the franchise ownership waters, and being part of the group that could possibly bring a WNBA franchise back in a city where it belongs would be a great way for he and his wife, Christen, to learn how things work.
Goff posted the following message in his Instagram stories this week:
“I’m thrilled to join this inspiring group of leaders as we work to bring a WNBA team to Detroit! This is an incredible opportunity for our vibrant community and the most passionate fans in the country!”
