Portland Thorns, WNBA team announce $150M practice facility

The Portland Thorns and the city's incoming WNBA team will share a $150 million state-of-the-art practice facility, slated to open in 2026.

The teams' owner RAJ Sports said the facility will be located at the Evergreen Corporate Center in Hillsboro, and will be the first in professional women's sports to serve two franchises.

Karina LeBlanc, RAJ’s executive vice president of strategic growth development and the Thorns’ former general manager, said the facility is something she’s only dreamed of for female athletes, even as a two-time Olympic soccer player.

“Everyone who walks into this space is very purposeful on the idea that we are here to make women's sports better. And so when you put everything together … it's not just a building ... it's a game-changing mindset and opportunity, a booming facility that's never been done before,” LeBlanc said.
