Arizona alum Andre Iguodala to have jersey retired by Warriors
If Arizona men’s basketball plays in the NCAA West Regional in San Francisco this March, the Wildcats will only have to look up to the Chase Center rafters for some extra motivation.
Former Arizona star Andre Iguodala will have his No. 9 jersey retired by the Golden State Warriors next month, making him just the seventh player in franchise history to receive the honor.
Iguodala was a core ingredient of the Warriors dynasty under coach Steve Kerr, another Wildcats alum.
Iguodala’s jersey will be retired on Sunday, Feb. 23 when the Warriors host the Dallas Mavericks for a 12:30 p.m. PT tip-off.
Iguodala won four NBA championships with the Warriors (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022) and was the 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. Iguodala appeared in 111 playoff games (40 starts) with Golden State, averaging 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 28.5 minutes.
