Indiana Fever forward NaLyssa Smith to join Unrivaled on relief contract
Another Indiana Fever player has joined the Unrivaled ranks. The 3x3 league announced on Friday that NaLyssa Smith has signed a relief contract to play in place of injured players.
She is the fourth Fever player to join the upstart league, joining Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull, and Katie Lou Samuelson. All four of them, though, will be on different teams. Smith will play for Mist BC — the same team that her girlfriend, DiJonai Carrington, plays on.
Mist BC has two players out for its game tonight against Phantom BC — Carrington and Jewell Loyd are both unavailable with leg injuries. Smith's addition will give Mist BC five available players, with her joining Aaliyah Edwards, Breanna Stewart, Courtney Vandersloot, and Rickea Jackson.
Smith is coming to Unrivaled after playing part of the 2024-25 WCBA season in China with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. She averaged 16 points and seven rebounds while in China, but the Golden Bulls released her shortly after the New Year.
