Nebraska's Natalie Potts out for the season with ACL tear
Natalie Potts suffered an ACL tear that will sideline her for the rest of the season, she announced via her Instagram Wednesday.
The Nebraska womens basketball forward went down with a non-contact injury in the Huskers victory over Northern Alabama on Tuesday. Potts led the team in both scoring and rebounds during Nebraska's 5-0 start.
Nothing has stopped me before and I surely wont let this stop me now, Potts said in an Instagram post. This journey will certainly have its challenges but these are challenges that Im ready to face. As the road to recovery begins I just want to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers. Im surrounded by the best and I cant wait to support my amazing teammates from the sideline. Ill be back better and stronger than ever before with a new story to tell.
Potts had a stellar freshman campaign in 2023, averaging 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She was voted as the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year by conference coaches and was a unanimous choice for the Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
