This was new and different cheating today
While the refs definitely favored the home court team, that’s old news even predictable
Poor caitlyn nearly lost an eye and couldn’t get a call
But
I have never before seen the scoring table “malfunction “ three different times, always stopping the fever from a fast break
My message to the wnba is, you are going to kill the golden goose…. If we wanted to see traveling and fouling with no calls, we would watch the nba

(1,071 posts)Is it the scoring table’s fault Clark was 4/17 shooting?

(10,711 posts)That’s shitty reffing
Not to mention shitty sportsmanship by the offender
If the league wants to go back to no one watching, they are off to a great start

(167 posts)Not mad but my husband is working today so we were going to watch the game later, so maybe a spoiler alert for ball games please.
Hope you understand and don't take this personally.
On the topic of the refs, I have never seen such horrible refs as the WNBA. They really need to get this straightened out before next season. It makes the games almost unwatchable.

(10,711 posts)I was just so frustrated. I can take a lose if it’s fair and square but I just don’t want physical violence to be part of the wnba, without the refs doing their job, someone will be seriously hurt

(167 posts)But I'm with you. If my team loses fair and square so be it, but these refs let too many egregious fouls go by where someone can and do get hurt. Then when the player complains that they were hit in the face they get a tech.
It leads to a more violent game than the NBA in my opinion. It is just brutal and takes some of the fun out of it. If I wanted to watch a violent game there are other sports I could watch. I just want to watch good basketball. It is very frustrating.
Eta: The same is true the other way as well. They call fouls on players who never touched the shooter. Or who got all ball on the block. It makes players frustrated because they don't know how to defend if they are called for things that didn't happen.

(167 posts)How sweet. Thank you.

(18,374 posts)Including that phantom foul early in the first quarter. They still called her for three fouls early, forcing Christi to bench her. That's exactly how Tim Donaghy used to rig NBA games.

(72,328 posts)Because your statement indicates you don't. So how would you know how an NVA game is called?
If you do watch the NBA, I'm not sure what you mean about fouls not being called. In the '23-'24 season, an average of over 18 fouls per game were called on each team. You want more than 36 fouls called?
Also, they call traveling regularly in the WNBA? I think nor. Diana Tauradu's euro step is a travel almost every time she does it. I've never seen it called.
Finally, this thread is a WNBA thread. What does the NBA have to do with anything?

(10,711 posts)That’s what I meant is I want the w to call tight games
I was referring to the first four minutes of play the night I posted the op, cc was roughed up pretty badly and no calls.
Anyway it’s a different day and I’m over it
