Caitlin Clark Is 'Ready' for Fever and WNBA Basketball to Return
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has enjoyed a well-earned break, but now she is ready to get back on the court. Clark told reporters at practice just that when asked whether she is ready to return to basketball action. "I honestly kind of feel that already. I feel like I'm ready to get back out there and get playing. But that's probably because that's really all I've known over the last year. I feel like I'm kind of at that point."
That doesn't mean Clark didn't take anything away from the time off, or the extra time to practice. Caitlin said it was nice to reset, however, she quickly shifted the focus back to business, even when it came to a break. "Getting in here and getting to work on some stuff that we probably haven't got to work on all year long...getting in here even on my own and working on some stuff that I want to work on, so all that has been really good honestly." Clark went on to emphasize how the team needs to improve defensively when the WNBA starts back up, noting the Fever have scored the ball at a strong clip
.
CC spent some time on strength as well, as was once again shown on Aliyah Boston's TikTok. Indiana has actually been back at practice for over a week and are back in the weight room as well. Even if most of the footage captured was of the playful variety.
If Clark returns with fresh legs to go with any improvements she and her teammates were able to make, the league could be in some trouble. Caitlin averaged 20.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 12.5 assists in July. Numbers that would put one in MVP conversations and not just Rookie of the Year debates.
