Most consecutive double-doubles in WNBA history: Angel Reese breaks Candace Parker's record for longest streak

Angel Reese's prowess is reaching new heights for the Sky.

The 22-year-old rookie posted career highs in rebounds and then in points in Chicago's last few games. On July 7, she kept the good times rolling, snatching an even greater accomplishment in the process.

Reese's latest double-doubles secured her a space in the WNBA record books. She surpassed Candace Parker for sole possession of the longest double-double streak in WNBA history and has extended that record to 15 in a row as of July 11.

Her recent performances have reinforced Reese's place right alongside her rival Caitlin Clark in the 2024 Rookie of the Year race. She's in sole possession of the longest double-double streak in WNBA history.

But considering that numerous NBA players have double/double streaks that were considerably longer, with some players like Wilt Chamberlain going entire season(s) with a double double in every game.

I think the triple-double is overrated unless the player's points are 20 or higher.
I once recall a Bulls game where an opponent had a triple double. 12 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds. Directly involved in 32 points
In that same game, MJ had 39, 9, & 8. Directly involved with 57 points.
Sportscenter led the coverage with the "notable" triple double, though Jordan had a far better fane, & the Bulls won.
Now, we're counting double-doubles? Under 14 points & under 12 rebounds is merely nice, not special.
I think this is an empty record.
