My husband and I loved it, although he did say the physics was wrong.

I found it absolutely involving and gripping.

I must say, though, I absolutely LOVED American Hustle. Have you seen that yet?

just so-so to me. Nothing special. Amy Adams was horrible - and I love her. Christian Bale was by far the best actor though. All in all, too unbelievable and just didn't care enough about any of them.

speaking of movies that have no redeeming value - Wolf of Wall Street.

See, I loved the underlying comedy in American Hustle.

Haven't seen Wolf of Wall Street and probably won't.

Again - the differing (yet respectful) opinions are what make life interesting. It would be utterly BORING if we all liked and disliked the same things.

Have you seen Gravity? And if so, what was your opinion of it?

AH - some of it was funny, I agree. Maybe it's just the utter over the top build up
they give these films....like they are Gone with the Wind or something....almost always
a let down.

think it's interesting to think about - how much I probably would have liked it - if
I had never heard a single thing about it, and we were bored on some rainy Sat afternoon and found it on TV.

I remember seeing the trailer for "Gravity" long before the movie was even completed. And I was anxious to see it based on the trailer.

After seeing the full movie, the trailer was the part I liked best!

I am in love with this movie. I watched this movie 2 times. First time in the theater and the second time I watched it online. Truly speaking I enjoyed a lot while watching it online, thanks to movie25.ws . I was able to watch gravity in HD Quality on this website. I will surely watch it again and on the same website.

In a willing suspension of disbelief way.

I know physics. Mostly they ought to have been spinning rapidly when George Clooney let himself go. They were not.

I'm the sort of dark soul who thinks the ending was ambiguous.

Did she live or die? I don't know and leaving it there makes it a better movie.

So many people have. It just wasn't my cup of tea for some reason.

I heard a lot of people say (as you indicate here) that the physics were way off the mark.

I agree as to the ending. It was a little strange. I mean, if she actually got back to earth what are the odds she'd land somewhere with no one anywhere around, and that way the scene was shot, the place where she landed did look surreal. So...I don't know either!!!

at the Theater to get the full effect but, I doubt it because again the plot and the characters were not developed.

That just wasn't used??? I went expecting this profound story of great personal realization, etc. and I think that was the attempt, but I don't think it was achieved.

Short answer - I don't know. But the way the filming was done where she landed all alone, and the camera effect was kind of "surreal", I'm guessing she's supposed to be in heaven. Of course, if her deceased child had come running over the hill, that would have answered the question - and that did not happen.

What are your thoughts?
