MOVIE MYSTERY: The credited writers of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Glenville Mareth and Paul L. Jacobson, have no other known credits. So I'm guessing they're fake names. But who actually wrote this movie?

written by Rod Serling from a story idea by Mike Korologos bears a striking similarity to Philip Jose Farmer's short story Uproar in Acheron.

Korologos has only that one fiction writing credit. Farmer believed that Serling plagiarized his story (along with some others from other authors).

Korologos was a newspaper reporter.

fun for the holiday I guess. The copy was real bad. I'm getting the feeling it wasn't a 'copy' issue.

mostly old TV shows. The copy we have is terrible as well, over and above the execrable writing and acting.

It was Pia Zador’s film debut. I just discovered that she and I share a birth date. 🤪

Some old campy movie actors used to bastardize names sometimes to confuse the ticket buyers. Heh heh. I wondered if this was one of those times.

I I first saw it at age 10 when it was originally released. My small town movie theater always had a kids Christmas movie annually. Lots of JuJuBees and empty popcorn boxes flew around during those shows!

They can be difficult to watch. "Someone held up a video camera in the back of a movie theater" levels of resolution.

A lot of it is 1950s shows, and they are Kinescopes — film taken of TV screens. The Santa/Martian movie isn’t that good. It’s blurry, and the color is off.
