Trivia For Citizen Kane (1941) Fans

A couple of days ago I was watching The Falcon In Hollywood (1944), on TCM. About 20 minutes in, The Falcon (Tom Conway) and his lady cabdriver friend, explore a prop room. They find a body but in the dark background to the left of the frame, a portrait of the elderly Kane can be seen hanging on the wall. It was the same portrait that can be seen hanging over Bernstein's (Everett Sloane) desk and fireplace while he is being interviewed about Rosebud. I know both movies were from the RKO studio. Is it possible that someone wanted to trigger Hurst by exposing the Kane portrait, knowing that Hurst wanted all trace of the film to be buried forever?
This may be common knowledge to movie fans but I just discovered it the other day.

My husband and I watched that same movie on TCM the other day. I love trivia about movies. I didn't know this bit of info about the portrait of Kane in the movie, so thank you for sharing it. I can't wait to tell my husband. Next time we watch that Falcon movie, we'll look for the portrait scene!

5. I can't even tell you....

....how many times we have watched Citizen Kane. I see something new every time I watch it.

I don't know any other people who enjoy older movies, which is a shame. I am such a fan. My husband's favorites are the The Thin Man movies. He told me that he had a big crush on Myrna Loy when he was a young boy!

2. You'll often notice the same props being used in TV and movies

Newspapers being read, pictures on walls, items on shelves, etc.

4. Talking about Old Props

Director Henry Koster promised actress Peggy Moran that if she married him he would feature her in all of his movies. He had a bust of her sculpted and it was in every one of his movies. The Bishops Wife(1947) Come To The Stable(1949) Harvey(1950) O'Henry's Full House (1952) My Cousin Rachel (1952) and The Robe (1953) were some of them.

7. The Psycho house was featured in an Alfred Hitchcock Hour

episode called "An Unlocked Window". It scared the bejeesus out of 8 year old me and my 10 year old cousin in 1965. If you've never seen it, it's on Peacock and here.

and the remake from about 20 years later. BTW the killer turned up on an episode of The Wild Wild West a couple of years later.

9. I didn't like the remake

Of course, I already knew how it ended, but it was in color and the actor was a recognizable face so it wouldn't have been a big shock anyway.
