Joe Bell (Movie Trailer)

I watched this trailer earlier tonight after IGN tweeted about it and frankly, it pissed me off. The film is based on a true story which I am unfamiliar with so I am not sure what liberties were taken. Still, it's a film where the gay character faces an untimely end while a straight character is redeemed or turned into a noble figure despite earlier mistakes.

Again, I don't know the details behind the real life events and movie trailers are notorious for not always being honest with the audience or faithful to a story. My issue, though, is why was this movie made? Where are the movies with the gay superheroes? Where are the gay romantic comedies? Where are the buddy cop movies with a gay lead? None of those are to be found but Hollywood can crank out yet another movie about a tragedy befalling an LGBT person/character. Not only that but it stars Mark Wahlberg despite his questionable past on LGBT matters.

If this movie appeals to you, then great. I hope you enjoy it. I won't be spending one penny or one second watching this movie. Hollywood needs to do better.

look interesting to me. After watching Bette Davis in Dark Victory and Tom Hanks in Philadelphia, I don't need to spend another 2 hours watching somebody die on the screen.
