1977 The Late Show

I love Art Carney and Lily Tomlin. This is an Altman-produced neo-noir by Robert Benton. It's. My favorite movie! I'm watching it for the 2nd time today. Anyone else familiar with this movie? It's on Prime, but I had to buy it. I recommend it highly. It's a comedy, mystery, and there's even a cat!

The same with another Altman film, Nashville.

One of my all-time favorites of his and any filmmaker is M*A*S*H, which I've seen several times and can always watch one more time.

and it's very Altmanesque. I adore Altman. Please try to catch Nashville! You'll love it, I promise. See if you can see 3 Women with Sissy Spacek and Shelley Duval.

Though I hadn't realized it was an Altman movie! It's a great look at L.A. itself. And I like near the end when she tells him not to call her Doll. (Or was it Dolly?)

there's one line where Carney compares Tomlin's character to "good-looking coquettes" in past Los Angeles. Everyone thinks he's saying good-looking cokeheads. LA is it's own character in it
