It was overdone, predictable, and just didn't resonate with me. Frankly, for a thriller/horror with political undertones, I don't think it comes close to "Get Out".

Parasite deserves all the praise it has received IMHO, including the Oscars it ran away with on Sunday night. Love the way the film traverses effortlessly through numerous genres (social comedy, thriller, mystery, horror, tragedy) and plot developments resulting in a perfect landing. As I watched I was reminded of both Hitchcock because of the controlled craft involved, and the films of Jean Renoir. Renoir rarely passed judgment on the characters in his films and tried to impart some humanity in his most problematic characters. Such is the way Bong treats the Kim and Park families in his twisty tale of income inequality and class division. An exercise in great storytelling and an instant classic.

I found it severely lacking in pacing, characters and any more than a very superficial storyline.

This was a great year for films and Parasite is the best of all. It's a unique prize package for viewers who are looking for something completely different. In other words it's the kind of film only a stink bug would hate.

I read many posts about this film, and most people love it. But I haven't watched it yet. Thanks for sharing your opinions.

Saw it twice. It's a very different type and style of storytelling. Don't expect typical Western twists turns and for sure characters. But, if you're interested in trying something different and for sure out of the ordinary try it. There is symbolism woven into the script that might be unfamiliar to Westerners but it's there to be discovered. Just my 2 cents.
