Al Pacino in Chinese Coffee from 2000

A film with Al Pacino and Jerry Orbach (detective from Law and Order) play a couple of friends arguing about Pacino's state of life, having written 2 books but making a living as a doorman. They both live in tiny apartments in Greenwich village circa 1982. It was originally a play starring Pacino in 1992. The whole movie takes place in his friend's apartment, with flashbacks to scenes with his girlfriend.

I enjoyed Pacino in this. I love how he brings life to the kind of character who he probably feels a lot of sympathy for, as I think Pacino stays tied to his roots as a struggling actor from New York.

The only thing that kind of bothered me was his girlfriend looks just out of college practically and Pacino was 60 at the time he made the movie. Though I think they wanted the character to be in his 40s.

Wife unit and I were at a small restaurant off 7th. in Gren. Village.

Waiter looked like someone in some kind of way... but not really.

Coupl'a days later, Post reports that Al Pacino was doing time as a waiter in the Village, prepping for a role as a waiter.

I don't remember what kind of tip we left -- at least the requisite 15% at that time.

He didn't spill anything so we probably left a good tip.
