Related: About this forumJust saw A Star is Born...OMG! SPOILER ALERT!
What a complete waste of time.. GaGa was great... but every other character was simply boring and old.. Especially Bradley Cooper...His good looks, great hair... took uo half the screen every time he was on it.. Half Beard, long auburn curly hair. and Country Western deep drawl..
Best thing about the film.. Andrew Dice Clay playing Ga Ga's Father..
Yep a real waste of time.. Ga Ga's acceptance of a Grammy totally destroyed by Cooper who crawled on the stage drunk, crying etc... well thats all you need to know..
My opinion only!
But most critics gave it excellent reviews....

(6,346 posts)the reader has never seen any of the four previous versions from 1932, 1937, 1954 (with Judy Garland) or 1976 (with Barbra Streisand).
But then, I'm an old movie fan (and a fan of old movies!), so I've seen three of the previous ones!

(2,795 posts)I liked the 1976 one so I had hopes for this remake.

(10,565 posts)I'm sure no one would tell Cooper, especially when he is the director, screenplay writer, editor etc

(8,515 posts)He can definitely sing.. It was his character ( warn down, drugged out alcoholic but still gorgeous) His fake Country Music drawl..but. Still good looking as ever even though he's down and out and ready to kill himself.. GaGa was great...

(1,358 posts)I though Cooper and Gaga were both good, just thought it could have been
cut a little.
Going to see the Streisand one tonight. never saw that one.
We'll see.

(2,252 posts)Loved it. Almost forgot this was the third time watching this story. (missed 1932 and 1976) The movie, Gaga and Cooper are favorites for Oscars. Very different until the final scenes where it pretty much locks in with the other versions. ***SPOILER ALERTS*** Ga Ga doing La Vie in Rose is almost worth the price of admission. Nice Judy tribute by Gaga when the title appears on the screen.
