I took it for about an hour, and then I'd had enough. The lead character is insufferable, IMHO. I wanted to slap and yell at her.
Anyone else?
Did anyone enjoy it? Did I give up too soon?

(40,416 posts)Who I rather like quite a bit.
This flick is on my to watch list, but not near the top. It's about Walt Disney, not the most charismatic character to portray on the screen, even if it is Tom Hanks.
I will see this film, but I will not be looking to be bowled over. It is a period piece (a positive for me) but it seems to be a rather droll story line, from what I've heard. Well, Walt was never Mister Excitement, was he?
My regards.

(152,096 posts)I guess you could say she was really good in this, but I couldn't stand the character. Tom Hanks did a good job, I think.
It is certainly a period piece, and was done well.
I hope you enjoy it! IMDB liked it a lot. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2140373/?ref_=nv_sr_2

do not see Wit although it could be known as Emma's tour de force role in a made for TV movie.
Wit =
A renowned professor is forced to reassess her life when she is diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer.

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. I just kept waiting for her to somehow be a little more human.

(56,912 posts)I don't know how far you got into the storyline and if you are not going to finish it I will further elaborate.
Saving Mr. Banks is My kind of film but, I can understand how it is not for everyone.
Also. I LOVE 'hard to love' characters and both PL Travers and Wit are that type character.

(152,096 posts)I did read the synopsis of the plot on IMDB so I know what happens.
Maybe I should have been more patient, but she made me nuts! Insufferable rigid woman.
I guess I don't love 'hard to love' characters, lol!

(56,912 posts)she plays that same type of character in Wit and is pretty much the only character on screen for most of the film.
soliloquy after soliloquy. an amazing feat. I was mesmerized.
interesting aside, I cried with both of these films.
they were both achingly heartbreaking to me.
weird, eh?
different strokes for different folks, I guess.
