Can we bring back an optimistic Star Trek without super-villains and existential threats to Earth or the Federation?

I would like to see more optimistic science fiction where humanity generally has it's shit together and people solve technical, political, and personal problems in rational ways.

By all accounts that's what Roddenberry was trying to do when he created the series.

It's no coincidence that the people selling us all these grotesquely imperfect worlds as some kind of "normal" are the ones who profit the most from living in grotesquely imperfect worlds by the exploitation of others and the destruction of earth's natural environment.

The last decent star trek franchise was deep space nine. I am one of the few who absolutely hates anything done by tarantino! How that guy became such a hit with his z- grade movies....smh.

I'm also probably one of the few people who hates that poorly written, horrible book called gone with the wind. I don't normally advocate book burning, but for that badly written peice of trash I would make an exception!
