DU Progressives:"Afghanistan drowning in opium, ending Fed & tribute to Ben Bradlee"

October 23, 2014 04:30

Abby Martin discusses a new report by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime that opium poppy cultivation has hit an all-time high in Afghanistan. The Charlotte Observer investigation on the secret use of surveillance technology with little transparency or oversight. James Corbett, host of the Corbett Report, talks about the role of the Federal Reserve and why he thinks it needs to be overhauled. Investigative journalist Gareth Porter discusses the Iran nuclear negotiations and his recent trip to Tehran. Finally, a tribute to former Washington Post Editor Ben Bradlee, and how the golden age of journalism that he was a part of has vanished.
