1. I'd like to kick the crap out of whoever wrote that headline. These are terminally ill children

with intractable (nonresponsive) pain. One can argue about the need for protections for children and that's fine, but that headline is really misleading. Given the cruelty as the policy of our own country for immigrant children, I'd surely expect better from those writing for the US edition of the Guardian.

2. Wish more states here were receptive to euthanasia. Little uncomfortable with young children, but

OK if limited to "children who agonize with no hope, and unbearable suffering."

I think there are about 8 states here that permit euthanasia.

The news showed an 18 year old woman who had incurable brian tumor, agonizing pain 24/7, no hope of anything close to relief, lots of support from her family, etc but she needed two doctors to approve it and that was the hard part. Doctors don't want to give it their OK due to possible lawsuits.

7. That's sad. Jack Kevorkian was a true hero for people and families in pain.

I told my dad years ago that if when he gets older and is his jealth is too much to handle that I would buy him a one way ticket to Holland and he agreed. He ended up dying in his sleep 1 1/2 years ago, completely out of the blue and in great shape. We think maybe a blood clot was the reason, who knows. That is the only silver lining about him dying....at least he didn't suffer. He always was jealous of people who died that way.

Not sure what I think. Hate suffering.
Health decisions between Dr and patients only. Should always be private. But man...tough.
